A sheet made from ink and printing ink, hand printed and yet modest in price: for many people collecting begins here. Prints with ink for sale at prices under 500 euro make sense once you understand the technique behind the sheet.
Under 500 euro, originals often come in smaller formats and in editions printed in several impressions. The sheet is still an original if the artist printed it or approved it. Linocuts, etchings and simple relief prints are typical.

Small, but with presence
Small sheets work especially well in a series: three or four identically framed prints make a gallery wall in a hallway. A mat lifts the motif off the frame, and non-reflective glass protects the surface.
Checking and narrowing further
Look for the pencil numbering on the lower margin, the signature and the paper. To compare processes, look at linocut, etching or collagraph. Styles like graphic and illustrative help too. A short question to the description is often enough to tell original from reproduction, and it is worth asking for every sheet in this range.
