A photo becomes a toolkit
Manipulated photography treats the capture as raw material and builds something new from it. If you want manipulated photographs for sale, you can narrow them by style and price, for example impressionist or 1,000 to 2,000 euro.
Interventions range from color correction through montage to complete recomposition. Sometimes they are barely visible, sometimes they define the picture. What counts is that the editing carries an idea of its own and does not just show off an effect. That span runs from gentle retouching to a freely invented picture space, and it is exactly this range that makes it worthwhile to compare several works side by side.

Between photo and painting
Manipulated pictures are hybrids and so sit beside paintings as well as beside photographs. In the room, size and framing count: a wide shadow-gap frame gives the picture weight, a mat calms it. Even light keeps the colors stable.

A look at the execution makes sense: printed on paper, behind acrylic, on metal or mounted on fiberglass. Ask also about the edition and about how the editing is described.
