Moderation in color
Color in classical photography is restrained: warm earth tones, soft skies, skin tones with depth. Classical color photography for sale at 1,000 to 2,000 euro sits in a bracket where paper and printing stand out clearly.
Classical color pictures avoid loud hues. They build on finely graded palettes that can recall old master paintings: a dark background, warm light from the side, one detail in red. If you want years of pleasure, pick motifs whose color values never turn pushy in daily life, even when you see them every day.

A picture with posture in the room
Muted colors take well to warm light and wall colors such as sage, taupe or deep blue. Place the photograph in a plain frame so it does not lose to elaborate furniture. Groups of two or three pictures in the same format feel calm.
