Clear, still, mysterious
Symbolist acrylic on canvas reduces signs to a few clear elements: a tree, a figure, a circle, painted coolly and placed still. Here you can find symbolist acrylic pictures on canvas for sale that work with tempera echoes and fine surfaces.
Acrylic forms smooth areas on which figures stand like shadows in midday light. In combination with tempera, matte passages arise that recall old panel paintings but have a present-day clarity.

Signs in the living space
A symbolist picture tolerates a spot where you linger. It does not need much light but needs even light. An armchair nearby, a table with books, a relaxed wall: that is how the calm arises in which the picture speaks.
Shopping questions
Find out about varnish, edges and the type of ground. Matte areas are sensitive to fingerprints. If you want to hang the picture without a frame, look for painted sides and a clean back. A trial hanging at eye level shows whether the motif stays clear from a normal distance.
