India ink as a tool
Graphic, illustrative painting in ink works with contour, pattern, and sign: pen stroke beside brush area, lettering beside figure. Paintings of this kind under 500 euro are for sale here if you like clean lines and plenty of black.
Ink and India ink deliver the densest blacks in painting. With a pen come sharp contours, with a brush flat areas, with a sponge rough patterns. That suits a visual language that sets signs and loves legibility.

Between book and wall
Illustrative paintings often recall book pages, maps, or posters and so work well in a study, a kitchen, or a hallway. Several sheets in the same frame form a small picture story.
Price range and care
Under 500 euro, works on paper and small formats are common among originals. They belong behind glass with an acid-free mat. Ask whether lettering in the picture is painted or printed, and have ink type and support material named.
