Originals in this selection, Expressive and gestural, Material Pastel, under 500 euro.
Chalk in motion
Expressive pastel lives on pressure, swing and thick, direct strokes of color. Paintings in the expressive and gestural style with pastel under 500 euro are for sale here, with lively traces on paper or board.
When the chalk is driven broadly, soft planes appear, while on its edge it makes hard lines. Rubbing, dragging and tapping are part of the picture. Colors stand tightly side by side and mix in the eye, which gives the sheet tempo.

A good choice for starting out
In the tier under 500 euro, originals often mean small to medium formats on strong paper. Gestural pastel is well suited for gathering first experience with original art. Look for details on the paper, since rough tooth holds chalk better than smooth sheets.
Protecting loose chalk
Pastel dust only clings lightly. Frame under glass with spacing and carry the picture flat. Fixative can secure the color but changes tones. Ask therefore whether and how it was fixed.
