Acrylic as a stage for ink
On primed canvas, ink behaves very differently than on paper: it beads, pulls threads and catches in the weave. If you are looking for gestural ink and acrylic on canvas for sale, expect surfaces with depth and rough contrast.
Acrylic is waterproof once it dries. That lets an artist run ink across it without softening the paint underneath. Thin ink lines play against opaque acrylic areas, and where the two meet you see sharp edges or fine halos.

Canvas in the room
A canvas hangs without glass, so it feels more direct than a sheet on paper. Check the depth of the stretcher bars and the hanging hardware, especially on large formats. A varnish can protect the ink before the picture goes on a bright wall, because some inks react to sunlight.
When varnish helps
Whether a varnish was applied changes the look: gloss varnish deepens black and color, matte varnish calms the surface and cuts reflections. It also protects the ink from dust and fingerprints. Ask about it if a particular finish matters to you.
