Rough weave, soft lead
On primed canvas, gestural drawing turns into relief: graphite catches in the weave, acrylic fills the grooves. You can find expressive acrylic paintings on canvas with pencil for sale here if you love large, physical pictures.
The structure of the canvas breaks every pencil stroke into small grains. Lines therefore look softer and warmer than on paper, almost like chalk. Acrylic layers on top stress the gestures and let some lines disappear again.

Hanging like a painting
Gestural canvases work best without glass, hung free or in a floater frame. Plan for hanging hardware and stretcher depth. In large rooms they look impressive in raking light, while under spotlights they appear flatter.
Protecting the drawing
Ask whether the graphite lies under the acrylic or on top. In the second case a varnish that shields the lead from abrasion makes sense. Also look for even canvas tension and intact corners.
