Joining fragments
Collage is the craft of joining things, and pencil makes a picture out of scraps. You can find collage-style paintings with pencil for sale here if you like found pieces, paper and fine drawing.
In collage, many things float side by side: a newspaper edge, sheet music, a piece of cloth, a color field. Pencil builds bridges, with a stroke running across the glued edge and the paper. Connection appears where there was only material before.

The question of collage style
Some collages are strictly ordered, others grow in layers. Pencil suits both, since it organizes structures or sets notes at the edge. If you want more color, look at mixed media, and large formats appear among works from 2,000 to 5,000 euro.
Watch the paper
Old papers in collages can yellow or turn brittle. Ask whether acid-free materials were used or parts were sealed. UV-protective glass in the frame helps as well, especially on bright walls.
