Originals in this selection, Watercolor, Paper, under 500 euro.
Light from the paper
Watercolor and paper are an old pair, because only paper carries watercolor so luminously. You can find watercolors on paper under 500 euro for sale here, from delicate landscapes to bold color fields.
In watercolor, the color glows because the white paper shines through the washes. No opaque paint can imitate that. Good watercolor paper is heavy, acid-free and absorbent, so wet-in-wet gradients and fine details succeed.

Common subjects
Under 500 euro, landscapes, still lifes, flowers and small abstract compositions often take the lead. Because the formats are handy, they fit apartments of any size, for example beside the bed or above the dining table.
Caring for the paper
Hang watercolors behind UV glass and far from sun and heating. With an acid-free mat you prevent the paper from yellowing. Ask whether the sheet was stretched, since that usually keeps it especially smooth. For the choice, look at the size of the color fields: wide washes need a larger mat than small motifs.
