Smooth gradients, hard shadows
Pure acrylic gives surreal scenes the clarity a dream image needs to convince. Surreal paintings in acrylic for sale are best chosen with a careful look at transitions, shadows and details.
Surrealism likes smoothly painted skies and sharply drawn cast shadows. Acrylic delivers both when carefully layered. Where that succeeds, a cool, clear atmosphere arises in which the impossible looks credible.

Motif and riddle
Many surreal pictures are ambiguous. They leave open what is meant. Read whether the artist gives hints about the making. A short comment often helps understand the scene better without taking away its secret. A glance at the title or description often reveals whether the painter intended one reading or deliberately left several open.
Light against gloss
Smooth surfaces reflect light. So do not hang surreal pictures opposite large windows or under harsh spots. Light from the side or a picture lamp from above shows the fine gradients without distracting reflections laying over the scene.
