A light support for heavy structure
Acrylic on canvas with stone joins handiness and substance: the canvas stays light, the stone adds depth. For 500 to 1,000 euro there are acrylic-on-canvas paintings with natural stone for sale that make material tangible.
Stone dust and grit can be bound into acrylic gel, which behaves flexibly thanks to the canvas. Reliefs grow without the picture becoming heavy. The surface looks like a piece of wall brought indoors.

Mood on canvas
Canvas can be framed elegantly in a shadow-gap frame or hung free. The colors sit matte on the stone, so the picture suits natural textiles and wood. Light from the side brings out the texture.
Mind the details
Ask about how the stone is fixed, the build of the layers and the back. That shows how carefully the picture was made and whether it will need upkeep later. Another advantage of canvas: it is easy to take down and carry when you move. Still, use sturdy packaging with corner protection, since stone particles can damage edges.
