A bridge between eras
Acrylic on canvas and tempera meet where modern and old-master technique complement each other. Anyone seeking acrylic paintings on canvas with tempera for sale wants pictures with matte glow and clear structure.
Tempera is one of the oldest paints in painting, acrylic one of the youngest. Together they make pictures in which fine egg paint stands over a flexible base. The surfaces feel calm, the contours sharp, the colors cool and clear. Look long enough and you notice how the egg paint is almost translucent in places.

Style and price for orientation
Stylistically you often meet this pairing in symbolism and surrealism. Larger works can be found under 2,000 to 5,000 euro. That narrows selection and ambition quickly.
Caring for canvas and tempera
Hang the picture where temperature does not swing sharply. Remove dust only with a soft, dry brush. In the description ask about the layer structure and whether a varnish is present that protects delicate spots. For transport, cardboard corner guards help.
