Line as sign
A sign drawn delicately and wrapped in watercolor sometimes carries more meaning than a whole painting. You can find symbolist mixed media drawings with watercolor for sale here to find exactly such sheets.
In drawing, symbols receive clear contours: eyes, plants, birds, patterns. Watercolor wraps them in mood. Both means complement each other without one dominating the other. Usually a few signs carry the sheet: an eye, a hand, a vessel dissolved in clouds of watercolor. The reduction leaves room in which viewers add meanings, and the drawing holds the riddle together.

Sheet and place
A symbolic sheet suits places where you linger. That could be a desk or a wall beside the bed. A frame without a striking color lets the paleness of the tones stand.
Good to know
Drawings differ from prints in that each sheet is a one-off. Check details on signature, paper and date, and if unsure ask for photos in daylight. Watercolor stays sensitive to light.
