Real yet impossible

In drawing especially, you see how closely Surrealists observe. Hatching shapes volume, fine dots give skin or stone a texture, and then a detail slips into the picture that does not belong. Keeping a drawing well
Sheets are sensitive to light, damp and rubbing. Frame with a mat so the paper never touches the glass, and do not hang the drawing above a radiator. Ask about paper type and signature. A calm hallway or a workspace with soft light suits this much detail especially well.
Check the details
Ask about the signature, the paper and whether the ink was combined with other media. If you plan to keep the sheet for years, an acid-free board behind the paper is a small, effective precaution.
