Line and field in turns
Drawing in mixed media joins the fine stroke with fields, traces and layers. If you want a mixed media drawing for sale under 500 euro, you are probably after an original that shows a lot of handwriting in little space.
The base is the line, whether in ink, graphite or charcoal. Watercolor, pastel, collage pieces or colored pencil then give the drawing body. Especially engaging are surreal or graphic sheets, where the line builds figures and the field lets them dissolve.

Small, yet strong in a room
Drawings work in groups. Three or four sheets in matching frames form a calm wall, while a single sheet over a dresser is enough as an anchor. Since most formats are handy, they are easy to rehang.
Care and choice of paper
Paper is the most sensitive part. Ask whether acid-free board was used and whether pastel or charcoal can smudge. Direct sun fades some inks, so a spot with even daylight is better.
