A language of materials
Where there are no objects, material and method take over the storytelling. Abstract mixed media on paper is for sale when you want a sheet of pasted paper, ink and paint to develop a logic of its own.
Abstract mixed technique works with contrasts: rough against smooth, transparent against opaque, printed against painted. On a single sheet these opposites meet head on. You can see where brush, scissors or roller did their work.

Hanging and light
An abstract sheet works best with space around it. Pick a quiet wall and a frame in white, black or oak, and add side light that reveals the relief of glued parts. Raking light shows structure, while frontal light shows color.
Questions before deciding
Is the sheet mounted on board, or does it float in a mat? How thick is the collage at its heaviest points? Answers like these help you plan the right frame and the right depth.
