Mixed media means, at heart, that a picture is built from more than one source, and acrylic holds much of it together. If you want mixed media works with acrylic for sale, you can see collage, drawing, gel and paint side by side in a single piece.
Acrylic adheres to paper, wood, canvas and board, and can be reworked once dry. That is why it often serves as adhesive and paint at once. Beneath or above it you may find charcoal, ink, newsprint or fabric. These include torn papers, newspaper clippings, fabric scraps, sand in gel and drawings beneath or over the paint. That very variety makes every work a one-off whose build-up you can read like a small archive.

Finding a direction
Styles differ widely: modern work is usually reduced, expressionist work stronger in tone, gestural work full of movement. On price, a look at 1,000 to 2,000 euro makes sense if you want larger formats.
Care and hanging
Collage parts react to moisture and sunlight. Do not hang such works above a radiator or in direct sun. A duster with soft fibers is enough to care for the surface.
