Light from dust
Pastel chalk owes impressionism a lot: it applies light in points of color without drying or gleaming. Impressionist drawings in pastel chalk for sale appear under pastel and many other pictorial moods.
Pastel chalk is almost all pigment, so the colors glow so pure that they shimmer side by side. A beach with a parasol or a path in autumn leaves can be captured as a mood in a few strokes.

Room climate and framing
Because pastel tolerates moisture poorly, the sheet does not belong in a bathroom or kitchen. A frame with glass, a wide mat and a solid backing protects the chalk. UV-protective glass slows fading.
For choosing
Look for a sheet where color and paper work together. A tinted paper, such as light gray or sand, makes pastel look especially soft. Ask for dimensions with margin. Impressionist pastel chalk copes surprisingly well with boldly painted walls, since the matte surface does not fight the color. A cream mat separates picture and wall cleanly.
