Haze from charcoal dust
Impressionism broke light into patches, and charcoal can do that with shading instead of color. You can buy impressionist charcoal drawings for sale under 500 euro if you look for mood in black and grey.
Charcoal can be rubbed so softly that landscapes, cityscapes and figures seem to vanish into fog. A few darker accents then provide footing: a tree trunk, a mast, a figure at the edge. The impression of a fleeting moment arises from giving up sharpness.

A quiet sheet for the wall
Such drawings bring calm to stairwells, bedrooms and reading nooks. With originals under 500 euro, smaller formats are common and gather well into a group. A frame in pale wood with a broad mat lets the tones fade out softly.
On hanging
Choose a wall with even light and some distance from radiator and kitchen. Paper reacts to humidity, and charcoal does not tolerate rubbing.
