Marks that carry without a motif
Abstract charcoal is pure movement: a smear, a sweep, a dark block tipping into the white. You can buy abstract charcoal drawings for sale under 500 euro here for rooms where art may breathe without explaining anything.
Charcoal forgives nothing and allows everything: you can smudge it, scratch it, open it again with an eraser. Abstract work uses exactly that. From heavy fields, torn edges and bright inclusions arises a rhythm that is read by the eye, not by the intellect.

Plenty of effect under 500 euro
At this price level, works on paper in medium formats are common, often by young positions. Because charcoal needs so little in materials, size and strength of presence are well within reach. A changeable frame with a white mat is enough to begin with.
Ask about dust and fixing
Loose charcoal likes to fall off. Find out whether the sheet has been fixed, and plan on glass with a spacer. A note on hanging also helps, since abstract sheets can sometimes work in more than one direction.
