More than a sketch
A graphite drawing is a finished statement in grey: thought through, worked out, brought to the point. You can buy graphite drawings for sale under 500 euro here if you want a sheet that stands on its own.
Unlike a sketch, the worked drawing is composed for effect. Areas are closed, edges set, tones deliberately distributed. Graphite allows alternation between fine line and deep, glossy grey. Graphite supports this working-out especially well, since it can be layered, smudged and lifted again with an eraser until every passage sits right.

A place of its own
A single drawing in a plain frame needs no surroundings; a wall with some distance is enough. It shows especially well above a sideboard, a chest of drawers or at the end of a hallway.
Look at the dimensions
Note sheet size and image area separately: some drawings have a white margin that is part of the picture. In framing, that margin should be kept.
