This oil painting depicts the Aresquiers wood, located not far from Sète,This location is exceptional because it features natural woodland near the Mediterranean sea which can be seen in the background. The main attraction of this work, besides its calming effect, lies in the contrast between the areas in full light and those in the shade. Two watercolors made in-situ served as studies for its realisation. It is ready to hang (the sides are painted black for presentation).
