Work with heat and blow
Expressive metal sculpture shows the traces of hammer, torch and file. You can look for gestural metal sculptures from 1,000 to 2,000 euro for sale if you value force and rhythm in steel.
With metal, gestural means: torn open, driven, welded, cut open again. The torch’s heat makes sheet warp, hammer blows stay as hollows. The artist draws with fire and tool and allows chance. The result feels alive, not manufactured.

Strong entrances in a room
A piece with a lot of energy needs a calm backdrop. Pale walls, a simple sideboard or a single plinth in a neutral tone remove the competition. Under spots with warm light, burn marks and rusty zones glow especially.
Weighing it up
Check sharp burrs and points, especially if children live with you. Ask whether the surface is sealed and how you clean it. For comparison look at abstract work or stone combined with metal.
