One form, many views
Large abstract metal sculpture needs no motif, since it works with space and time: walk around it and you keep seeing new lines. You can look for abstract metal sculptures from 2,000 to 5,000 euro for sale when you want a work with presence.
Good abstract sculptures are interesting from every side. From one perspective a curve reads closed, from another it opens. The effect rests on calculation and feeling: proportions must be right without looking calculated.

Material as statement
Stainless steel gleams and mirrors the room, Corten shimmers rust red, bronze warms, aluminum stays light. Each choice changes how the work stands in the house. A dark rug or pale parquet underneath changes the impression once more, and so does the light at different times of day.
What matters when buying
Ask about type of metal, surface treatment, weight and anchoring. A certificate with signature and date is usual for works of this size. Measure on site with a cardboard mock-up before you decide. How the work gets through stairwell and doors is also worth settling with the seller beforehand.
