Originals in this selection, Stone, Expressive and gestural.
Forceful, not coarse
Gestural stone is a contradiction that works: the hardest material receives the softest movement. Expressive stone sculptures for sale deserve an eye for strike marks, surface changes and center of gravity.
Anyone who works stone gesturally uses hammer, point chisel and flat chisel in quick, decisive sequences. The surface shows a change of smooth and rough areas, sharp ridges beside soft curves. That makes a sculpture that looks like frozen movement.

To get started
If you have a modest budget, look under works under 500 euro. There you often find smaller formats that work as single pieces on a shelf or windowsill. The larger the work, the more important the plinth becomes.
Care and authenticity
Stone tolerates dusting and an occasional damp cloth, while polish should not be attacked with cleaning agents. Ask about the type of rock, the weight and whether the work is signed, ideally on the underside or the base.
