How a resin statue comes about
Figurative work in resin ranges from portrait to stylized form, smooth, colorful or transparent. You can browse resin statues for sale if you value figures that catch light.
First a model is made in clay, wax or foam, then a silicone mold. Resin is poured into that mold, released, reworked and lacquered or polished. The mold allows repetition, which is why editions are common. Single casts in tinted resin remain one-offs.

Resin figures are lighter than bronze and can be shown on shelves and consoles without straining the structure. Place them so light comes from the side: then the face gets a profile and the surface shines without glare.
