When things slip
Surrealism in printmaking links images that do not belong together and makes its own logic of them. Anyone who wants to buy surreal prints for sale is looking for riddles one is glad to keep on the wall for a lifetime.
Surreal sheets show everyday objects at the wrong size, figures without ground, rooms with several horizons. The process becomes an ally: etching gives fantasy exactness, woodcut force, lithography a soft twilight.

Hang it and let it work
A surreal sheet takes time. It belongs in places you pass often and can afford a look, for example beside a door or in a passage. Low-contrast walls and simple frames let the riddle work in peace.
Narrowing by technique and price
If you like it hard and black and white, choose linocuts. To fix your budget, you can look around under 500 euro. Ask about edition and paper, and read in the description whether title and signature are on the sheet.
