Light made of grays
Impressionist charcoal dissolves landscape and light in gray. Impressionist printmaking with charcoal is for sale, for example as a monotype or already under 500 euro.
Without color, impressionism arises from brightness: a lake, an avenue or a shore is built from finely graded grays. Charcoal allows wiping, lightening and darkening again, and in print this softness is kept. Hung side by side, several sheets give a small sequence of times of day, from morning haze to dusk.

Quiet places for quiet pictures
This picture suits rooms in which you recover: bedroom, reading nook, hallway. Dimmed light is ideal. A light frame and a mat in natural white frame the tones.
Care in framing
Charcoal needs distance from the glass so it does not stick. Ask about fixing, paper type and edition. If the sheet is very delicate, have it framed by a professional at the start.
