One block, many colors
Linocut means carving lines and areas out of a soft plate, rolling ink onto the ridges left standing, and printing. Color linocuts for sale under 500 euro suit you if you like strong contours and flat tones.
In multicolor work each color is printed from its own block, or the block is carved further after every pass. This reduction method makes each step final: the early colors end up beneath the dark ones. Rough textures in the background often come from deliberately left-standing remnants, not from dirt.

Visible cuts
Typical are fine scratch marks in the flats, small white flecks, and slightly cloudy rolled tones. They are not flaws but proof of hand-guided printing, much like brushstrokes in a painting. Two colors on cream paper already produce a strong, homely image.
Frame and placement
Colored linocuts carry a mat well, because dark contours would otherwise run into the frame. Do not hang them next to windows with direct sun, which bleaches pigmented inks over time. Ask whether the blocks are linoleum or rubber, as this affects the sharpness of the line.
