Paper as painting ground
Oil on paper is a rarer pairing, since paper absorbs paint and needs preparation. If you want photorealistic oil paintings on paper for sale, expect pictures with a delicate, almost matte surface.
Without a ground the oil sinks into the fibers and leaves halos. That is why the sheet is sized or primed first. Done cleanly, the result is smooth, very precise surfaces that shine less than paint on canvas. It suits detailed motifs well. Because the paper shows hardly any structure, fine lines such as lashes or blades of grass stand out especially clearly.

Light format, framed
Works on paper weigh less and can hang in slim frames. A mat keeps the sheet away from the glass so nothing sticks. Choose a wall away from direct sun, since paper reacts more sensitively to light. The matte skin of the picture also tolerates lighting without reflections.
Questions about condition
Clarify whether the paper is acid-free and how the sheet will be framed. Notes on the back help place the work.
