Not a picture but terrain
Abstraction and plaster get along well, since both live from surface, edge and shadow. For 1,000 to 2,000 euro you can find abstract paintings with plaster for sale that drop motifs and tell their story through relief.
Grooves, ridges, smoothed fields and tiny cracks form a terrain through which the eye roams. The artist guides it with spatula and sandpaper, puts pigment into the depths and leaves the heights white. A play of contrasts emerges that needs no subject.

Bringing quiet walls to life
An abstract plaster relief gives an otherwise empty wall structure without pressing color on it. It works especially well in stairwells and hallways, where raking light creates shadows. With large slabs, think about the weight.
Before buying
Plaster likes gloves and dry air. Ask about the surface treatment and whether edges are reinforced. Notes on dimensions in centimeters and on hanging are indispensable. Anyone who likes abstract reliefs can hang two or three smaller panels in a row. The rhythm of even gaps links the structures into one composition.
