Depth through time
Classical oil painting gives motifs dignity: a still life with heavy gloss, a portrait with a warm breath, a landscape with secure depth. Here you can find classical oil paintings for sale at the price level 2,000 to 5,000 euro.
Oil paint dries slowly, so painters build layers carefully. The classical field demands exactly that patience. A sky only gains its breadth through several glazes, a fabric only gains its weight through reflections.

Middle class and size
At this price level you often find mid-sized formats and solid finish, occasionally larger works by younger positions. The picture suits living room, library or dining room, where with a fitting frame it sets a calm center.
Before buying
Ask about varnish, support, size and year of creation. A signature and a note on authenticity help with attribution. Choose light from the side and hang the picture at eye level. A condition report with photos of the corners is a good yardstick for oil paintings of this kind.
