Support as statement
Abstract painting in acrylic can take place on canvas, wood, metal or paper, and with very large works the choice of support is an artistic decision. Abstract acrylic paintings for sale above 10,000 euro are best chosen with an eye on support, format and surface quality.
A picture on aluminum feels cool and tense, on wood warm and massive, on canvas mobile. With large pieces such decisions belong to the concept. They also determine how light reflects off the surface. Since they can be unusual in size and build, precise measurements and detail photos matter especially.

Structure and depth
Complex layering is usual at this price band: ground, glazes, opaque fields, structural elements. Stepping close, you find colors beneath colors, lines that were covered only later, and small corrections. Depending on the room, a single work can define a whole wall and needs hardly any additions.
Documentation and transport
Ask for full dimensions, weight, a description of the back and proof of authenticity. For transport an art shipper that covers packing and insurance is recommended.
