Originals in this selection, Oil on canvas, Spray Paint, 2,000 to 5,000 euro.
Slow and fast at once
Oil and spray paint are rare partners, which is exactly what makes their union intriguing. Anyone looking for oil paintings on canvas with spray paint from 2,000 to 5,000 euro for sale finds works that unite two timescales in one picture.
Oil dries over weeks, spray paint in minutes. Spray paint therefore usually lies underneath before oil continues the surface, or it goes on a fully dried oil painting. The order decides durability, so look for notes on layer sequence in the description.

Weight of the surface
On canvas, oil forms buttery passages, while spray paint lays thin, matte zones beside them. This difference between relief and mist gives the surface depth. You see it best in raking light, and it vanishes in frontal light.
Care and hanging
Oil paint takes a long time to dry through completely, so handle the picture carefully and store it dry. Do not hang it in rooms with fluctuating humidity. A quiet spot with even light preserves the surface.
