Traces of movement
Gestural painting shows the movement of the hand: swing, drips, scratches, repetition. You can find expressive mixed media for sale from 500 to 1,000 euro here, and a look at painting pays off if you like reading marks in a picture.
In the gestural mode, the picture comes into being through action. A broom stroke over wet paint, a fingertip grab, a tear in the paper: it all stays visible. Mixed media widens the repertoire with tools and materials that behave differently from paint alone.

Energy in a room
Such works need surface, even when the format is not huge. A free wall without a second picture group lets the dynamic breathe. Hung beside calm furniture, it gives the room a counterweight to order.
What to look for
With strong applications, ask about weight and hanging as well as drying time. Check the edges in the photos of the description: does the picture run to the edge, or does it end on a field that wants a frame?
