Color as an event
Abstract enamel frees color from everything representational: fields, lines and glass flow stand for themselves. Abstract mixed media with enamel from 2,000 to 5,000 euro is for sale if you want pure color effect at large scale.
When it melts, glass runs, forms veins and bubbles and lets edges trail off softly. Abstract artists take that as part of the picture: they steer the flow without fully controlling it. That creates patterns recalling minerals, water or clouds without depicting them.

Effect in the room
Large works set accents, on a white wall as well as on dark plaster. Because the glass bends light, the impression changes with the time of day. A spot beside the window uses that, a spot in the dark wastes it.
Buy safely, hang safely
At this level, it pays to check for a certificate and signature. Ask about weight, hanging and edge protection. Take dust off with a dry cloth. Strong temperature swings are unkind to enamel, so a place beside a radiator is unsuitable.
