Motif and riddle
The symbolist drawing relies on line and suggestion. Symbolist ink drawings in mixed media for sale are sheets where small motifs claim a lot.
In symbolist ink drawings a single motif often stands at the center, surrounded by ornament, script or shadow. The viewer suspects a story without knowing it. That is exactly the appeal: the sheet gives occasion to form one’s own connections.

Finely worked
The ink is set with a very fine nib or a thin brush, and details such as feathers, crescents or line patterns demand a sure hand. A delicate tint of watercolor or pastel allows nuance, yet stays subordinate to the line.
Frugal framing
A slim wooden profile with a mat in warm white makes the sheet look like a page from a book. Drawings of this kind are small and intimate, and a spot at eye level near an armchair is ideal. Have paper and ink described so you can judge lightfastness.
