Originals in this selection, Mixed Media, Oilcolor, 2,000 to 5,000 euro.
Layers like sediment
Mixed materials and oil produce works whose build-up is almost archaeologically readable. You can find mixed media works with oil paint for sale from 2,000 to 5,000 euro if you want pictures that show more construction than brushstroke.
Oil, wax, paper and found material lie on top of one another and, over time, become a firm skin. You see edges, breaks, overpaintings that tell how the work came about. Typical ingredients include wax, scraps of canvas, paper and pigment powder. Because oil takes them up gradually, a fabric of material forms in which traces of different working phases overlap.

For originals between these amounts, larger formats, quality supports and a mature handling of materials are often to be expected. It pays to compare several works before you commit.
Care when hanging
Mixed media works with oil can be thicker and heavier than they look. Ask about weight and depth, plan sturdy wall hooks and keep away from radiators and windows where the temperature swings.
