Trace instead of image
Abstract graphite works show traces of movement, pressure and rubbing. Abstract mixed-media works with graphite for sale let you experience surfaces that shift with the light.
Without a subject every trace counts: a broadly rubbed stripe, a cloud pulled with the thumb, a hard line dividing the surface. Graphite takes up each of these gestures precisely. Repeat them and a rhythm arises that guides the eye.

Linking with painting
Many artists set color fields beside or over it. If you look for this combination, find it under Painting; for larger formats, 1,000 to 2,000 euro serves as orientation. Both are easy to compare without committing early.
Effect in a room
Abstract graphite surfaces are calm and combine well with light wood, concrete or linen. Avoid colorful surroundings that swallow the gray. A spot with raking light, say beside a window reveal, shows the sheen and depth of the material.
