Hanging with foresight
Place such drawings on a wall that is evenly lit. Strong light sources create glare on the graphite and disturb the illusion. A flat frame with a white mat provides concentration. A good test is the look at a glass surface: reflections and transparency lie close together there, and such spots show whether a sheet was truly worked cleanly.

Ask for a photo in raking light. It shows whether it is graphite on paper and how finely the tonal values are graded.
