charcoal drawing on paper
Original artwork description
After Dark explores the tension between intimacy and distance. Rendered entirely in charcoal, the portrait emerges from deep shadows and expressive marks, with the direct gaze creating an immediate connection between subject and viewer. Delicate transitions in light contrast with dense, almost tactile blacks, while loose strands and unfinished edges preserve the rawness of the drawing. The result is a portrait that feels both intimate and elusive—a fleeting encounter that continues beyond the image.
