Original artwork description
The Crown Imperial (Fritillaria imperialis) stands tall and colorful with its striking blossoms. This watercolor captures the unique shape and bold colors of the plant, inspired by walks through Berlin’s garden spaces. In some private gardens, I was allowed to take photos and sketch directly at the plants.
Painted with a limited color palette, all shades were mixed to create a lively depth with clear shapes and transparent lightness — a true eye-catcher.
On high-quality watercolor paper, the painting is stretched on a wooden frame and shown in a simple shadow gap frame without glass. This keeps the freshness of the watercolor directly noticeable.
A lively, strong piece with a relaxed, natural vibe.
