Do you know that feeling of vastness, calm, and longing that arises during a walk by the sea – when the rough wind brushes against your face, the waves crash loudly and rhythmically, drowning out your thoughts, until you suddenly find yourself completely present in that movement?
With this six-part series, I try to capture precisely that sensation. These abstract, landscape-like works evoke inner states – moments suspended between departure and arrival. Each painting creates its own space, shaped by traces, movement, and atmosphere.
They are watercolours on untreated wood panels – an unusual but intentionally chosen surface. The subtle wood grain remains visible and enters into dialogue with the flowing pigments. This connection creates a particular depth and gives each work a tactile quality. Depending on the light, the colors and textures shift in expression – nothing remains fixed.
Natural tones – soft ochre, calm blue, vibrant orange, aubergine, grey, and blush – create moods that move between delicacy and strength, lightness and depth.
This series invites you to pause, to feel what lies between the lines – in the in-between spaces, in the quiet beneath the crashing.
