The Woman of Substance 1 is a handmade monoprint art in acrylics on sketching paper. Women in India have been, over the centuries, denied their rights and most succumbed to the pressures and built a cocoon around themselves. It is very sad to note that still there are many women in the rural areas who believe that they are inferior to men and have not come out of the cocoon to breathe the fresh air of independence and self-reliance. Though many women have freed themselves from the shackles, the men have still not been taught from childhood to respect women as their equals in every way! May be it will take another century to happen!!
