SAND ASH is one of the original pieces I worked on while I borrowed the quiet daytime hours of a Cuban beach side discotheque as a studio. The dance space was my workshop, and at night I enjoyed the dynamism of the venue. Using beach sand, fire ash and an unknown glue, this is a rare piece that came back with me from that travelling. It is very night-time music, soul and stars. Sibilant or susurrant? The sweet undertow of sound, like shingle on a beach, like the reassuring environmental hiss and hummings.
