Original artwork description

This painting continues the visual exploration of the universe developed in the Book of Angels series, where the angelic presence does not appear as an idealized figure but rather as a form of energy in a continuous process of becoming. The silhouette of the angel emerges from a vortex of painterly matter, as if composed of light, ash, and memory. The structure of the body seems to simultaneously form and dissolve, suggesting an existence suspended between appearance and disappearance.

The palette, dominated by mineral whites, cold greys, and incandescent accents of red and orange, creates the impression of an inner combustion. Within this fragmented matter pulses a hidden light, like a spiritual nucleus attempting to manifest through the dense layer of the material world. Dense textures, rapid gestures, and almost calligraphic graphic interventions intensify the sensation of inner movement and vibration.

The angel is not depicted in flight or action, but in a moment of suspension — a state of waiting. This waiting is not passive but charged with spiritual tension, like a vigil between two realities. The form of the head, barely emerging from the pictorial mass, suggests a consciousness turned inward, a presence that listens rather than speaks.

In this context, the angel becomes a symbol of the interstice between worlds: between matter and spirit, between burning and stillness, between the chaos of the gesture and the order of an invisible presence. The painting thus functions as a space of fragmentary revelation, where the image does not offer a definitive answer but invites the viewer to participate in the process of deciphering.

Waiting Angel suggests that revelation does not always arrive like lightning; sometimes it appears as a prolonged state of preparation — a tense stillness in which matter itself seems to organize for the emergence of an invisible world. ✨
