Part of the Doggerland-series

Original artwork description

50x70 cm, monotype, print and acrylics on paper. Framed in a white frame without glass. Can be framed in a blank wooden frame on request.

This artwork is a monotype: a print on paper, made unique by applying paint and screen print. There is only one edition.

This abstract artwork in earth tone colors is inspired by ancient history. The handwritten texts and screen printed texts in it refer to what the wold must have been like thousands of years ago.

Inspiration:

The Dutch coast is on the edge of a huge drowned land: Doggerland. Doggerland’s rivers were lifelines, carving paths through the icy tundra and breathing warmth into an otherwise harsh and unforgiving land. During the coldest glacial peaks, when ice encased the earth, their flow was stilled, yet in warmer interludes, they returned, roaring with renewed vigor. Their waters transformed the barren plains into lush oases where life flourished. Along their banks, grasses swayed in the wind, feeding great herds of reindeer, horses, and steppe bison. You can read more about it in the description.
