Hands often become an outward manifestation of inner feelings, frequently of turbulent emotions we wish to remain hidden. From balled fists, to wringing hands and drumming fingers, it’s almost as if passions we wish to suppress must find an outlet through our hands or we risk imploding from inexpression.

This illustration is another result of my cemetery wanderings, in this instance from Loyasse cemetery in Lyon. An immense place, Loyasse is not only home to incredibly intricate tombs and sepulchres, but some lofty views of Lyon.
