Boats in Sète

This oil on a linen canvas is a personal interpretation of 'la Pointe Courte'. This small harbor is located on the Thau lagoon in Sète. Its fishing huts, boats, and drying nets give it an everlasting atmosphere. Sketches and watercolors made in-situ served as studies to realise it.  It was painted in successive semi transparent layers, a technique which gives depth and a lot of luminosity.
